UPSSSC PET 25 October 2026 paper analysis: difficulty level
Both shifts of Day 1 were easy to moderate. General studies questions were mostly direct and drawn from standard school-level topics, with a few detail-based questions in history, the national movement and economy. Current affairs covered events from about mid-2025 to mid-2026, which made it the hardest general section for candidates who had not revised recent months. The 40 data-based questions (graphs, tables and the Hindi passages) were not conceptually difficult, but the graph and table sets needed careful reading and calculation, so time management decided the attempts.
| Section | Shift 1 | Shift 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Indian History | Easy | Moderate |
| Indian National Movement | Easy to Moderate | Moderate |
| Geography | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate |
| Indian Economy | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate |
| Constitution & Public Administration | Easy to Moderate | Easy |
| General Science | Easy to Moderate | Easy |
| Elementary Arithmetic | Moderate | Easy |
| General Hindi | Easy | Easy to Moderate |
| General English | Moderate | Easy |
| Logic & Reasoning | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate |
| Current Affairs | Easy to Moderate | Moderate |
| General Awareness | Easy to Moderate | Easy to Moderate |
| Graph Interpretation | Easy to Moderate | Moderate |
| Table Interpretation | Easy to Moderate | Moderate |
| Hindi Unseen Passage | Easy to Moderate | Easy |
- Shift 1: easy to moderate. General Hindi and the Hindi passages were the most scoring. Arithmetic and the pie-chart set needed longer calculations.
- Shift 2: easy to moderate. Polity, science, arithmetic and English were direct. History and the national movement had detail-based questions (Al-Biruni in 1017, the Prayag Prashasti, the withdrawal of the Rowlatt Satyagraha), and the table and bar-graph sets were calculation-heavy.
- Option E matters: every question had “None of the above” as option E, and in some questions E is the correct answer (for example, Shift 2 Q43 on the FIFA World Cup 2026 hosts and Q74 on the continent crossed by the Equator and both Tropics).

How to use the Day 1 papers before the remaining shifts
Candidates appearing on 30 October or 1 November 2026 can use the Day 1 papers as a timed mock. Each shift draws on the same syllabus, so the Day 1 questions show the level and spread to expect, not the exact questions.
- Solve one paper in 2 hours, then check the static answers above and mark the sections that took the longest.
- Revise current affairs from about mid-2025 to mid-2026: awards, days and themes, schemes, defence exercises, space missions and sports events appeared in both shifts.
- Practise one graph set and one table set daily; the 20 graph and table questions in each shift were calculation-heavy.
- Read every option to the end. Option E (“None of the above”) was the correct answer in some Day 1 questions.
- Do not guess blindly: with −0.25 for a wrong answer, four wrong guesses cancel one correct answer.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I download the UPSSSC PET 2026 question paper of 25 October?
The question papers of both shifts held on 25 October 2026 are available as PDFs on this page: Shift 1 (booklet series NH8, 10 AM to 12 noon) and Shift 2 (booklet series GJ4, 3 PM to 5 PM). Both are bilingual and contain all 100 questions.
How was the UPSSSC PET 25 October 2026 paper?
Both shifts were easy to moderate. General Hindi and the Hindi unseen passages were the easiest sections. Current affairs and the 40 data-based questions on graphs, tables and passages took the most time.
Is the question order the same in every shift of PET 2026?
No. Each shift has the same 15 sections and the same number of questions per section, but the order changes. On 25 October, Shift 1 began with general awareness and Shift 2 began with Indian economy, so answers must be matched with the correct booklet series.
When will the official UPSSSC PET 2026 answer key be released?
UPSSSC has not announced a date. The provisional answer key is released after all shifts are over, and the last PET 2026 shift is on 1 November 2026. In PET 2025 the provisional key came two days after the last shift.
Are the answers on this page official?
No. The answers on this page are prepared by GSMitra for static questions only. The provisional and final answer keys published by UPSSSC on upsssc.gov.in are the final authority.
How many sections and questions are there in UPSSSC PET 2026?
PET 2026 has 100 questions in 15 sections: 5 questions each in Indian history, national movement, geography, economy, Constitution and public administration, general science, elementary arithmetic, general Hindi, general English and logic and reasoning, and 10 questions each in current affairs, general awareness, graph interpretation, table interpretation and the Hindi unseen passage.
